With impeccable leadership skills and a knack for detail in her work, Autumn Carnegie, the Document Processing Manager at Visionet Systems Inc., is redefining the role of women in the title industry. Autumn believes in helping colleagues with her experience and skills which she has gained and expanded her knowledge by managing the recording team. She believes in giving back because that’s what makes us better.

She’s a major contributor in developing the process Visionet is using now for the recording steps being used by AtClose - a Visionet Company.

Taking on newer challenges and dreaming bigger

One thing we need to know is that the title industry is fast-paced and thriving in it can be a challenge, especially for someone like me who was new in the field. However, my ability to adapt made me thrive as I took on the challenges with ease and focused on educating myself against the constantly changing requirements of clients and lenders. By learning these requirements fast, I was able to move quickly in the industry and serve as a Document Processing Manager.

Where do I come from?

I graduated with a degree in Accounting and Finance from Eastern Gateway Community College but soon discovered that I wasn’t being challenged enough. Hence, I decided to explore a little more and soon transitioned to the fast-paced post-closing field in the title industry.

How does Visionet help you achieve your passion/professional or personal growth?

Being hired as a Recording Associate with Visionet in 2013, my road to success started slowly but steadily. I was primarily hired due to my knowledge in the MD & VA Recording requirements and got promoted quickly as the Team Lead within the recording team.   While I had an understanding of recording, I did not record documents until I was placed on the recording team at Visionet. This was a great learning experience as being on the recording team helped me expand my knowledge of the requirements in the 3,200 jurisdictions in the US.

How are you making an impact in the tech industry in the Title Industry?

I am incomplete without my colleagues and other Visionaries. Together we have developed and put into practice one of the most robust barcoding and scanning technologies in the mortgage industry, which makes us stand out from the competition.

What do you want to tell other people joining the same field as you?

Sadly, in the mortgage industry today, there is still a lot of paper the needs to be processed and digitized for lenders and title companies.  Staying up to date on the changing technology and listening to the lender and title companies' needs will assist in a long successful career in the industry.
